Mohamed Elyounoussi helped Norway cement their place at the top of their UEFA Nations League group as the Nords drew with Slovenia at the Ullevaal Stadium.

It was a relatively tame first half, and while Norway had the lion’s share of the opportunities, they were unable to make them count.

Elyounoussi and Martin Odegaard linked up well in the 22nd minute, only to see the subsequent shot trickle back to the Slovenian goalkeeper.

Norway were the first to have the ball in the back of the net just on the stroke of half time through Watford’s Joshua King, only to see the flag go up for offside.

Slovenia were forced to continue the game with ten men after Miha Blazic was shown a straight red in the 63rd minute, and Norway were unlucky not to take the lead from the ensuing free-kick as Odegaard hit the crossbar.

Elyounoussi was replaced by Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jens Hauge in the 81st minute, with the game finishing in a 0-0 stalemate, despite a late penalty shout for the Norwegians.
