Southampton FC Women's RTC Academy confirmed an impressive treble on Monday night, with victory over Southampton Women in the SDFA Cup.

Emilie Castagna got the only goal of the game on 22 minutes at Snows Stadium, meaning it was yet more silverware for Saints' talented youngsters this campaign.

This latest trophy goes alongside the National League Reserve South West title, which they claimed after an unbeaten season where they dropped just two points from 14 games.

There was also success in the National League Reserve Cup, beating West Brom 4-0 in the final at the end of March.

In a similar light to the men's Academy, the Women's RTC is continuing to gain it's own reputation for producing young talented and promoting that to first-team level.

Last season saw the likes of Milly Mott and Lucia Kendall promoted to the senior squad, both players now stalwarts in Marieanne Spacey-Cale's side at the age of just 17.

This campaign has seen more players follow that pathway. Defender Megan Collett, who captained the RTC side on Monday night, has made six appearances and notched a first senior goal for Saints this season.
