Introduced with just seven minutes left to play at the Global Energy Stadium, the 21-year-old was delighted to have made an instant impact from the bench.

The defender continued, "I didn’t actually see it go in. I wish I celebrated a bit more than I did, but it wasn’t a great game.”

Fellow Saints loanee Jake Vokins maintained his place as a regular in Malky Mackay’s starting eleven.

Manager Malky Mackay was full of praise for his side who dug deep for a point: “We have boys who don’t see themselves as beaten when a goal down. That was evident again tonight.”

Across the border, Dynel Simeu continues to feature for Carlisle United. A mixed week for Keith Millen’s side who suffered a midweek defeat to Port Vale before a dramatic 2-2 draw on the road at Colchester on Saturday.

In League Two, Will Ferry featured in Crawley Town’s 3-1 midweek victory away from home at Harrogate Town, before falling to a 1-0 home defeat to Hartlepool.

Finally, in non-league, Jack Bycroft and Matt Hall continue to be the first choice between the sticks since their moves to Dorchester Town and Melksham Town respectively.

With Melksham Town securing a valuable point away from home at Plymouth Parkway, the manager of the opposition Lee Hobbs noted the importance of Hall's valiant goalkeeping performance:

“It was a game that a mistake or good goalkeeping would dictate the result and it was the latter.”
