Forever Saint Award: Nigel Adkins

Southampton Football Club was proud to present its latest Forever Saint award to Nigel Adkins.

The club’s former manager was presented with the accolade at half time of Wednesday night’s 2-2 draw with Leicester, at St Mary’s, receiving a fantastic reception from the crowd.

The award celebrates incredible contributions made both at Saints and in the community by ex-players, club servants and community champions, with Franny Benali, Glenn Cockerill, John Corbett, Kelvin Davis, Steve Mills and Leon Crouch all having been honoured this season.

Adkins oversaw one of the most memorable periods in modern Southampton history, guiding the team from League One into the Premier League by achieving back-to-back promotions in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons, before setting them on course to once again establish themselves as a long-team presence in the top flight.
