Tasting defeat only once at St Mary’s so far this season, manager Ralph Hasenhüttl is looking for the Saints crowd to bolster home advantage when Leicester visit on Wednesday night.

The first of back-to-back outings at home, with Brighton making the short journey along the south coast on Saturday, the hosts will be looking to carry on where they left off after victory over Aston Villa last time out in SO14.

I hope we have this crowd behind us as they can help us.

With six points up for grabs this week, Hasenhüttl is looking for the supporters to play their part.

“The crowd at home, it is good to have them back,” said the boss. “We are absolutely happy when they are pushing us and helping us.

“This is what we need. Like Jürgen [Klopp] said for Anfield, they need this and they never let them down. I hope we have this crowd behind us as they can help us.

“The most important thing is that we believe in what we are doing and we put a squad on the pitch that gives us the chance to get a clean sheet, and gives us the chance to score a few goals and that helps for winning.

“On the road we haven’t picked [up] that many points. It’s strange as you don’t do anything different to season where we had unbelievable runs away.

“At home we were struggling and you don’t know why, but now it’s the opposite.”
