Women's RTC Academy reach SDFA Cup final four

Southampton FC Women's RTC Academy side saw off New Milton Town 6-0 on Thursday night to reach the Southampton Divisional FA Cup semi-finals.

Saints took an early lead just nine minutes into the game at Totton and Eling, first team summer signing Katie Rood netting as she continued her comeback trail from injury.

The second came on 36 minutes through Sky Bedwell before a third followed five minutes later with Rood's second of the evening.

Another first teamer in Kirsty Whitton completed 90 minutes on Thursday night, as Saints continued to dominate going into the second half.

A fourth came two minutes into the new half, Hannah Jeffrey adding her stamp to proceedings, before a fifth came through a New Milton own goal.

The sixth and final goal came via Bedwell's second of the game on 74 minutes, as Saints booked a semi-final birth against one of Eastleigh, AFC Varsity or QK Southampton.

Saints starting XI: Ella Hunkin, Megan Collett, Jess Tanner, Helena Meadows, Ellie Chaffe, Mia Flood (Quinn 46'), Kirsty Whitton, Katie Rood, Hannah Jeffery (Castagna 60'), Sky Bedwell, Kaylee Buckingham.

Saints subs: Grace Jenman, Rebecca Quinn, Emilie Castagna, Claudia Weston.
