Saints Foundation will deliver the PL Changemakers programme to empower young women into leadership both on and off the pitch.

Saints FC Women’s Captain Shannon Sievwright will lead the Premier League funded programme, using her expertise on the pitch and as Saints Foundation’s Female Inclusion Officer to inspire the girls and highlight pathways into leadership for the future.

Saints Foundation ambassador Marieanne Spacey-Cale has also agreed to guest speak on the programme, offering insight into her career as an England footballer and now as manager and head coach of Southampton FC Women.

PL Changemakers will be supported by female staff from across the Foundation to provide great role models for the participants. Activities on the programme also include taking part in a variety of sporting sessions, planning social action projects and engaging with volunteering opportunities within the Foundation.

The UNITAR Accredited Leadership Course is funded by the Premier League and delivery will commence later this month. Groups will meet weekly throughout the school summer break, followed by a blended programme of face-to-face and online sessions running until Spring 2022.
