Le Tissier shortlisted for Premier League Hall of Fame

Southampton FC legend, Matt Le Tissier, has been included in a 23-man shortlist to be inducted into the newly launched Premier League Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame recognises and honours former players who have an exceptional record of on-pitch success and have shown significant contribution to the League since its inception in 1992.

Dedicating his glittering playing career entirely to Saints, Le Tissier made 270 Premier League appearances scoring 100 goals and assisting a further 64, earning his place on the shortlist.

Fans now have until 6pm BST on Sunday 9th May to vote for Le Tissier, by clicking here.

The Hall of Fame was launched today with inaugural inductees Thierry Henry and former Southampton striker, Alan Shearer.

Fans are now invited to select an additional six players from the 23-man shortlist to join the duo, with their votes combined with the Premier League Awards Panel votes to determine the six players who will be inducted.

The Premier League Hall of Fame will exist online, with dedicated content on www.premierleague.com. Inducted players will receive a medallion engraved with their name and the year of their induction.

The other shortlisted players are: Tony Adams, David Beckham, Dennis Bergkamp, Sol Campbell, Andy Cole, Eric Cantona, Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba, Les Ferdinand, Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Steven Gerrard, Roy Keane, Frank Lampard, Michael Owen, Peter Schmeichel, Paul Scholes, John Terry, Robin Van Persie, Nemanja Vidic, Patrick Viera, Ian Wright.
