Southampton FC Women players Alisha Ware and Caitlin Morris have received international call-ups this month for England Under-19s and the Welsh senior squad respectively.
Central defender Morris is the first Southampton female player to recieve a senior international call-up, following confirmation that she'd been selected for Cymru’s final UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 qualifying round match against Belarus on December 1st.
A win could see Cymru reach the play-off stages of a major tournament for the first time in their history.
On the announcement, Morris said: “It’s a big honour to be selected and I’m excited to have the opportunity to train alongside so many high calibre players.
“I’ll be looking to learn as much as I can and just really enjoy being in that environment."
General manager of the Girls’ and Women programme Martina Heath said: “We are extremely proud of the players.
“Like everyone they have had to adapt to the current climate and be creative to ensure they continue to develop and their efforts have been rewarded.
“We hope they have a fantastic experience and look forward to hearing all about it on their return.”
Morris and Ware are joined by girls from the club’s RTC who will also represent Saints at international level over the next two months.
