Southampton supporters can join our Big Bike Challenge riders, as they embark on our cycle challenge for Saints Foundation throughout the month of June.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic both our UK and European Big Bike Challenge rides – scheduled for May and June 2020 – have been postponed. So, we are challenging our riders to take on a solo challenge next month.
Those taking on the challenge will be riding 600 miles, the length of the European ride, or a shorter distance of 300 miles, during the month of June. The challenge is open to all who wish to take part, and we hope to see lots of you getting involved, with the shorter distance a good challenge for all abilities.
How you complete your Big Bike Challenge is up to you. Whether you take longer rides once a week or shorter ones daily or whether you want to do it outside or virtually, the decision is entirely yours.
To keep a track of your progress, please use a fitness tracker or an app like Strava so we know how far you have cycled during the course of the month. Make sure to share your photos and videos with us on social media throughout the challenge too!
We ask all riders to be responsible whilst undertaking their Big Bike Challenge and to respect social distancing policies set by the government.
If you’d like to raise funds for us whilst taking on the challenge, you can sign up and make a donation to our Virgin Money Giving Page or alternatively, set up a fundraising page of your own to collect donations from family, friends and colleagues.
If the challenge isn’t for you, and you’d simply like to support our riders, you can donate to our Virgin Money Giving Page here, which is helping our community during this difficult time and beyond.
