Slattery made his debut for the Super Farmers last Monday, coming on for 37 minutes during the 3-2 win over PSV in the Eerste divisie.
His second appearance though saw him grab the headlines, with an 85th minute sealer in the 2-0 home victory over Roda on Friday night.
The win sees the side sit second in the standings, four points off of leaders Cambuur but unbeaten in their last five.
Elsewhere it was a successful week for another of Southampton’s youngsters, as midfielder Tom O’Connor helped League One side Gillingham make it 13 league games unbeaten with two victories.
The first away at Blackpool had plenty of drama, with the hosts equalising in the 91st minute, before O’Connor assisted the winner for Brandon Hanlan in the 95th.
O’Connor was just as involved in claiming Saturday’s three points; his deep cross at home to Doncaster forced Cameron John to put the ball into his own net and equalise for the Gills, who went on to win 2-1.
Staying in League One, Kayne Ramsay was called into action early in the second half for Shrewsbury Town, who could not hold off Portsmouth and eventually fell to a 2-0 defeat.
Up in Scotland, Mohamed Elyounoussi continued his recovery from injury with 18 minutes in the 5-0 win over Hearts but was an unused sub in the 2-1 away win over Aberdeen on Sunday.
Fraser Forster returned following being rested in the cup with his 15th clean sheet of the season against Hearts and a string of good saves in the tight win over Aberdeen.
The six points gained by Neil Lennon’s side this week means they are ten points clear at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
In non-league, young goalkeeper Kinglsey Latham helped his Gosport Borough side to a 2-1 win over Walton Casuals on Saturday, meaning the Southern League Premier side have lost just once in their last five.
Mario Lemina’s Galatasaray side are similarly enjoying a run of good form; unbeaten in their last three including a 3-1 win over Alanyaspor in the second leg of the Turkish Cup quarter-final on Wednesday.
The win though was not enough for Faith Terim’s side to progress on away goals, but they made amends with a 1-0 win over Yeni Malatyaspor on their return to Süper Lig action yesterday.
Lemina played the full 90 minutes of both games but was substituted off during stoppage time of Sunday’s win.
Finally, Christoph Klarer continued his good form with Austrian side St Pölten; the defender played the duration of a 2-2 draw with fellow relegation battlers Flyeralarm Admira on Sunday.
