Southampton’s Under-23s return to Hampshire Senior Cup action on Tuesday night, travelling to AFC Totton in the third round (7.45pm GMT).
It’s Saints’ second outing in the competition this season, having defeated Royal Navy 3-0 in the previous round back in November.
Goals from Sean Brennan, Mikey Saunders and Callum Watts sealed the victory on the night for Dave Horseman’s side, which also took place at AFC Totton’s Snows Stadium.
AFC Totton have enjoyed a successful month in Southern League division one; January sees them unbeaten in five games, scoring six goals and not conceding once.
Their second round tie was back in September; a comprehensive 4-1 home victory over Wessex Premier League side AFC Portchester.
The winner of Tuesday night’s match will host National League South side Havant and Waterlooville in the quarter-finals, following their 3-0 victory at Gosport Borough at the start of the month.
