Despite being encouraged by the way his players have adapted to life in Division One of Premier League 2, Radhi Jaïdi says his side must be more ruthless in front of goal in order to convert performances into results.

The young Saints won their opening day clash against Manchester City at the beginning of August, but have since fallen to narrow defeats against Derby County and Liverpool.

Nevertheless, Jaïdi is confident his side will travel to Premier League 2 champions Everton tomorrow evening in high spirits, having competed well in recent weeks, and expects another close encounter.

“The only thing we need to improve really is converting chances into goals. I’ve been pleased with the performances," he began.

“The boys are adapting well to this level and have had a good taste of football in Division One now with our first three games.

“Tomorrow we’ll be giving some younger boys a chance to test themselves. There will be some new faces in the squad.

“We’ve got a few injuries also. But it’s all about giving young players the chance to develop and challenge themselves.

“Everton will be quite physical, we know that. We’ve prepared well and we’re focussed. If we keep the performances high the results will come.”
