Radhi Jaïdi is after a quick start when his young charges meet league leaders Wolves at St Mary’s this evening.

Saints were the early front runners in Premier League 2, but have since slipped to fifth, with tonight’s opponents now occupying top spot after seven games played.

Jaïdi’s side could close the gap to two points with victory, though, and he’s hoping to see plenty of Southampton fans in the stands at St Mary’s this evening, with entry free for all.

“It's been a long time since we've played a game at St Mary’s,” Jaïdi began. “It's a chance to replicate the first-team environment.

“We’re hoping that the fans will come to support. To put the boys under pressure a bit.

“Wolves are top of the table now. We're chasing them down, so hopefully it'll be an exciting game to watch.

“It'll be pretty even. They try to play football from the back, much like we do. Plenty of competition.

“We're playing at home so we'll be on the front foot from the off, and in pursuit of three points.

“Without fans in a stadium, of course there's something missing. So it's a call from me for fans to come and watch, the game is free for everyone.

“It's a great opportunity to see how the younger boys are developing. These boys are improving every day and it's great for the fans to be able to see that.”
