Young Southampton duo Jake Hesketh and Jake Flannigan have joined Burton Albion on loan until January.
Winger Hesketh and midfielder Flannigan, both 22, have linked up with the League One club to gain additional experience, moving to Pirelli Stadium for the next four months.
Burton, under the guidance of manager Nigel Clough, are looking to make a swift return to the Championship, having dropped back down to the third tier at the end of last season, and their hopes will now be boosted by the arrival of the two Saints Academy graduates.
Hesketh already has first-team experience in both the Premier League and Europa League, while he scored his first senior goal two seasons ago in an EFL Cup win over Crystal Palace, on the team’s road to the final of the competition.
Flannigan, who has overcome injury setbacks in the last few years, is yet to feature for the first-team, but has been a regular presence in the club’s Under-23s set-up for a number of seasons.
The club wishes both players luck for the months ahead and looks forward to watching their progress in that time.
