James Ward-Prowse says Southampton don’t have time to feel sorry for themselves after defeat at AC Sparta Praha.
Saints face Everton and Crystal Palace in their next two league games, with a EFL Cup clash against Arsenal in between, before their final UEFA Europa League game in early December.
Saints will need a 0-0 draw or a win against Hapoel Be’er Sheva in that game after the loss in Prague, but Ward-Prowse says focus must only be on Sunday.
“The games are coming thick and fast for us again, so we really haven’t got time to feel down and sorry for ourselves,” Ward-Prowse explained.
“We have to pick ourselves up quickly and make sure that we are ready for the next challenge.
“We have a really tough game coming up on Sunday, so we need to be ready for that and put things right from this game.”
Saints have found it tough away from home in Europe, with a draw and two defeats in their three group games, and Ward-Prowse says they are experiencing new challenges that they must learn to deal with.
“We are facing a lot of different challenges in Europe at the moment, but also domestically, and we have to be prepared to face anyone that comes up against us,” he added.
“We will learn from these experiences, but our focus now needs to be on the next game. We are still in with a chance of qualifying and that’s what we all want.”
