Puel: Fans can play a big part

Claude Puel says the support of Southampton's fans could be vital for his team away to Sparta Praha tonight.

Saints are set to be backed by more than 2,000 fans in Generali Arena, as they look to secure a win that might send them into the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League.

Puel is delighted to once again have such a strong following, and is hoping he and his side can repay those who are making the trip.

"It's important, because it's always difficult to play an away game in Europe, especially against a very good team, and an experienced team with good technical players, and they also have the experience of European games," said the Saints boss.

"Of course, the fans can help us with the spirit and the mentality, to give the players a good strength and to play this game with all our possibilities.

"For the fans, it's fabulous and it's fantastic. It's important to give them a very good answer.

"With all their support it's very important to make a very good game and a good result."
