Southampton defender Cédric is hoping the European success will continue for him this season.
The Portugal international, who last week signed a new four-year contract with the club, lifted the European Championship trophy with his country during the summer.
He now also has a Europa League campaign to look forward to, with Saints having been drawn alongside Internazionale, Sparta Prague and Hapoel Be’er Sheva in the group stage.
Cédric told Southampton’s official YouTube channel: "Last season we achieved that fantastic target, to be part of the Europa League.
“Now we just need to enjoy and show our value. We can do great things this year and we need to be focused on that.”
Cédric, whose commitment to Saints now extends to 2020, believes his incredible success with Portugal at EURO 2016 can help him kick on as a player.
"The Euros were fantastic,” he said. “When you win a European cup, it can happen sometimes one time in life and it was a fantastic moment in my career, and also I felt really good in the summer because I was more prepared.
“I need to thank Southampton to give me the opportunity to grow as a player and be part of this amazing championship that is the Premier League, and to be part of that family also.”
