Maya Yoshida has been selected in the Japan squad for two upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Samurai Blue host UAE on Thursday 1st September, before then visiting Thailand on Tuesday 6th September.
The matches are Japan’s first of the Asian qualifying section, with their group also featuring Australia, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
A top-two finish will guarantee Yoshida and his teammates a place at the 2018 tournament, in Russia.
