Southampton trio in England Under-21 squad

By SFC Media time Thu 25 Aug Club

Nathan Redmond, James Ward-Prowse and Matt Targett are all named in the latest England Under-21 squad by Young Lions boss Gareth Southgate.

The Southampton trio have all played in Claude Puel’s team in the early stages of this season, and could add game time for their country in a fortnight’s time.

Southgate’s side will host Norway in an Under-21 European Championships qualifier on Tuesday 6 September at Colchester’s Community Stadium [kick-off 5:45pm].

England currently sit top of their qualification group for next year’s finals, though Norway could close the gap on them to a point with a win.

Their remaining games come in October, with a trip to Kazakhstan followed up by the visit of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
