Claude Puel was a satisfied man after watching his Southampton team beat FC Twente in the second match of their pre-season tour to Holland.
Goals from Virgil van Dijk and Sam Gallagher, in either half, were enough to keep the perfect record going in the Netherlands and make it three wins out of three during the summer, as they triumphed 2-1 at the Sportpark Vondersweijde, in Oldenzaal.
"It's a victory, but that's not what is most important," Puel told Southampton's official YouTube channel.
"I think we are in the capacity to play very well and to make a good action. I think the players are a little tired, which is normal, but I am satisfied. To win is important, but to play good football is more important for the moment.
"Many players played 60 minutes today. We gave more time for each player, and for the last game in Holland also players will play 60 minutes.
"We progress, we improve. You can make things better, but it's interesting to see these players with good listening. It's also important to see younger players in the last 30 minutes and for the third game it's ok."
