Clasie: It's a great feeling to win again

Jordy Clasie believes Saints are continuing to make good progress in pre-season, following the win over FC Twente.

Saints made it three wins out of three in the summer, as they triumphed 2-1 against the Erdevisie side on their pre-season tour to Holland.

"It gives a great feeling to us to win until now every game in pre-season," Clasie told Southampton's official YouTube channel.

"But, to be honest, it's Holland and you know the level between Holland and England is a lot, but for us it's good to make some minutes and enjoy the pre-season as well.

"That's very important, to give as well some trust to all the players to win the games and we have to build up now our games and our minutes and then hopefully we can play every week much better."

The midfielder believes that, with Saints midway through their pre-season game schedule, improvements are starting to be made.

"I think so," he said. "I think the first game in America was a bit difficult for us, because I think it was the first time that we play another system, and now you see the last two games it's going much better and much better.

"That's good for us as players, but I think as well for the coach – it's what he wants, that we can do that on the pitch and we have to practise, practise and practise every time we are training and listening to the coach. Hopefully we are ready in just over two weeks for the first Premier League game."
