Long can't prevent Ireland's defeat to France

Southampton's Shane Long and Republic of Ireland saw their memorable UEFA EURO 2016 campaign come to an end, as France won 2-1 in Lyon.

Long won an early penalty for Ireland, who beat Italy to progress to the last 16 of the competition, which was successfully converted by Robbie Brady.

But a ten-minute spell in the second half turned the game France's way, as Antoine Griezmann scored twice inside five minutes to make it 2-1, before Shane Duffy was sent off for Ireland.

Martin O'Neill's men did everything they could to try and get themselves back into the game, but hosts France held on to progress to the last eight.
