Fonte and Cédric hoping for EURO 2016 quarter-final spot

By SFC Media time Sat 25 Jun Club

José Fonte and Cédric will be hoping to advance to the quarter-finals of EURO 2016 tonight, as Portugal face Croatia.

The last-16 tie, in Lens (8pm BST), could be a pivotal one, with the winners certain to be one of the heavy favourites to make it to the final from their half of the draw.

So far, Portugal are yet to actually win a game at the tournament, having drawn all three of their matches in the group stage.

However, that was enough to see them advance as one of the best third-placed teams, and they will now look to take advantage as the knockout rounds begin.

It will be a tough test for Fernando Santos’s team, though, as they face a Croatia side that topped Group D, beating Spain in their most recent match.

Fonte and Cédric are both yet to feature at the tournament, having been unused subs in each of Portugal’s games so far.
