Koeman has fully-fit squad ahead of Man City

Ronald Koeman says he has a fully-fit squad to choose from for Southampton’s penultimate home game of the season, against Manchester City.

The Saints boss will have decisions to make on the fit-again Charlie Austin and Florin Gardos, as his side prepare to welcome the UEFA Champions League semi-finalists to St Mary’s.

And Koeman is pleased to have difficult decisions to make heading into the final three games of the campaign.

“Everybody can be available for the weekend and of course that’s good,” Koeman told youtube.com/southamptonfc. “It means we don’t have injuries at the moment.

“I’m very happy that everybody is available. That’s the best what you can have as a manager. That’s good news for the rest of the season.

“That means there is good fitness with the players and the medical staff are working well.

“Then of course it is up to me as the manager to make the decisions. I have tough ones to make, but that’s part of my job.”

Austin has been out on the training pitch with his teammates all week, and Koeman offered an update to exactly where the striker was in terms of fitness.

“Charlie did his first full session on Thursday,” he added. “He showed his fitness and that’s the most important thing. Of course, finally we have to take the decision on Saturday.

“Florin is the same. He’s doing every day the training sessions with the rest of the players, but of course after a long-term injury you need game-time with the Under-21s.

“He’s closer, but all these decisions we will have to make on Saturday.”
