Cédric: We can take positives into Bournemouth

By SFC Media time Sun 28 Feb Club

Cédric says Saints are still aiming high after their defeat to Chelsea, and can take positives from the performance into Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Ronald Koeman’s side slipped to a 2-1 home loss yesterday, as late goals from Cesc Fàbregas and Branislav Ivanović overcame Shane Long’s early effort.

While the day ended in disappointment, Cédric agreed that, having controlled much of the game there was plenty they could take from their display, as they prepare for a trip to the Vitality Stadium this week.

"Of course. I think it was a very good first half,” he said. "We understand very good the game, we worked together.

"Second half we didn't have ball possession, but still we were defending well, we stayed compact and they didn't create so many chances."

With Saints still among the teams fighting for Euorpe, Cédric said there are significant ambitions among the squad, but that they must not focus too far ahead.

"Obviously, we need to have big goals and try to achieve them, but of course we are trying to think game by game, because that’s the key,” he said.

"Every game is like a final for us. I think that’s the key of our success until now."
