Emmanuel Mayuka has linked up with Zambia after being named in their provisional squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Saints striker is in Honor Janza’s initial 27-man selection for the tournament, which kicks off on 17th January.
The Chipolopolo will play a friendly against South Africa this Sunday, and Mayuka has now arrived in Johannesburg, where his countrymen have been training since Boxing Day.
Zambia will trim their squad to 23 players by 10th January ahead of the finals in Equatorial Guinea, who replaced Morocco as hosts last month.
The 2012 African champions have been placed in Group B, and open their finals campaign on Sunday 18th January against DR Congo. They then face Tunisia and Cape Verde on Thursday 22nd January and Monday 26th January respectively.
The top two from each of the four groups progress to the knockout stage, which runs until the final on Sunday 8th February.
Mayuka was in the Chipolopolo squad for the last two AFCONs, finishing as joint-top goalscorer when Zambia won the tournament in 2012. However, he and his countrymen would fall at the first hurdle the following year, going out in the group stage.
