Burnley took the lead early on but goals from Tino Livramento and Armando Broja saw Saints take the lead shortly after the second-half resumed. Cornet's equaliser signalled the end of the goalfest at St Mary's. Saints now face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.

It took a while for things to get started at St Mary's but after Cornet struck Burnley ahead the action has burst into life. Plenty of chances came Saints' way before they found the back of the net but it was a powerful header from Livramento that made it honours even at half-time. Here's to a big second-half. Break in play
Just past the half-hour mark at St Mary's as Saints search for a way back into this game. They've been on top since the goal, but there's a break in play as Elyounoussi is brought down on the edge of the penalty area and receives treatment.
Saints are starting to ramp things up here at St Mary's, but they can't quite find a way past the visitors as Elyounoussi sees his header bounce just wide.

A fantastic ball from Ibrahima Diallo to Livramento sees Saints with another chance on goal, this time Broja connects but youngster Collins is there to deflect.

This time Lowton lines up to take for Burnley but his slow, looping effort is an easy one for McCarthy.

Remond releases Livramento on the wing who quickly whips the ball into Broja in the centre of the box, he tries to get away from the Burnley defender but he can't find the space to get the shot away.
Goal brings Burnley to life
After a relatively quiet opening 10 minutes for Sean Dyche's men, Cornet's goal seems to have sparked Burnley into life at St Mary's. McNeil launches a curling shot goalwards but McCarthy is there to recover.
