Heartbreak at the final whistle for Saints as Neal Maupay scores a second late goal in as many games for Brighton to secure another valuable point. It was a valiant performance from Ralph Hasenhüttl's men who looked on top for much of the game. Saints now face Arsenal at the Emirates next Saturday.

This second half has lacked the same level of quality as the first but Saints still look eager to double their lead in front of a St Mary's crowd. Livramento and Redmond pair up before releasing Walker-Peters on the edge of the box but the ball escapes him and Sanchez is there to clear for the visitors.

Southampton come inches away from scoring a second. Livramento charges forward down the right before finding the feet of Broja who looks in for his second, his low and bouncing effort edges just wide of the post.

A blistering start from Saints who looked on top for much of the first half. A number of chances fell to Ralph Hasenhüttl's men before Broja gave Saints the lead as the half hour mark approached. Saints searching for a second
There's some smart play here from Saints who look increasingly dangerous on the attack. Romeu picks up the ball in the centre of the pitch and releases Adams. The Scottish international finds Redmond on the wing who tries a low ball into the box to find Broja but it is deflected behind by the Brighton defence.

A superb opener for the youngster who had to hold his nerve in front of Sanchez. That's also Redmond's fourth assist in four consecutive home games this season 🙌

Fantastic composure from Broja who dribbles his way past Duffy in the box. It's just him and Sanchez in front of goal as the 20-year-old chips the ball over the Brighton goalkeeper and into the back of the net for Saints' opener.

Brighton are quick to hit the counter as Mwepu charges down the right flank, he finds Lamptey in space who drops the ball back for Trossard but his left-footed shot is safely blocked by McCarthy.
Adams strikes wide
An error from Sanchez sees Walker-Peters recover the ball after a poor clearance, he finds Adams who has another opportunity to open the scoring here at St Mary's. He's on the edge of the area but his low, bouncing shot heads wide.
Lyanco finds Adams
Lyanco loops in a beautiful pass to Adams who can't quite get the shot under control as the ball goes over and behind for a Brighton goal kick.
Brighton finding their feet
Brighton look to find an opening in the game but Lyanco is there to head away for Saints. The ball only goes as far as Trossard who finds Mwepu in space on the edge of the box, McCarthy is there to clear for Saints as the ball goes behind for a corner.

Livramento finds himself in space as he works his way into the box, he gets a shot off but it's lost within the Brighton defence, Walker-Peters tries to recover the ball near the far post but Duffy makes a vital interception for the visitors.
Mwepu sets sights on goal
First bit of action for the Southampton defence as Brighton start to find their feet in this game. Mwepu strikes towards goal but it lacks the necessary power and it's an easy block for Lyanco.
Another chance for Broja
Just moments later Sanchez is forced to make another save as Broja dances inside the area before releasing a shot goalwards. Relief for Brighton as the goalkeeper makes his third save in as many minutes.
Adams and Broja pair up for first chance
First opportunity of the game falls for Saints as Adams picks up the ball in his own half, charging down the pitch and releasing Broja to his right, the Albanian international has a shot on goal but it's deflected back by Sanchez. The ball then falls to Adams again who launches it back goalwards but again the Brighton goalkeeper is there to deflect the ball away.15.05
