FULL TIME: Newport County 0-8 Saints

A successful night for Saints at Rodney Parade as they claim an 8-0 victory over Newport County in the second round of the Carabao Cup. Armando Broja netted a brace on his debut in red and white, while Moi Elyounoussi bagged a hat-trick on his return to Saints. Nathan Tella, Kyle Walker-Peters and Nathan Redmond were all on target as Saints raced to victory in Wales. Round three, here we come  👀

Saints continue to press here at Rodney Parade as Ibrahima Diallo finds the feet of Redmond but again his shot towards goal bounces wide of the post.

Stephens releases a beautiful ball to Ward-Prowse on the wing, his ball in is forced out of the box by the Newport defence but only as far as Walker-Peters, whose reactive shot bounces wide of the post.

Tella's goal has seen a subtle change of pace at Rodney Parade, with Saints looking settled moving the ball around in the centre of the pitch.

Newport County are caught sleeping as Elyounoussi picks up the ball in the middle of the field, and soon finds the feet of Tella. Calm and composed, he finds the back of the net with ease.

Nathan Tella's deflected shot goes behind for a corner, but James Ward-Prowse's cross in ultimately meets the hands of the Nick Townsend.

Another press from Saints but this time it's Nathan Remond who finds his shot bounce wide of the post.

Saints are continuing to attack, with Jack Stephens charging down the wing to release Yan Valery. Valery's pass finds the feet of Moi Elyounoussi but his shot bounces well wide.
