CELE CENTRAL 🤩

Plenty of celebrations at St Mary's as Saints rounded off the perfect week with another 3-1 victory! 👏

FULL-TIME: Southampton 3-1 Fulham

Back-to-back wins for the first time since December! Well earned from Ralph Hasenhüttl's side, with goals from Ché Adams, Nathan Tella (his first senior strike) and a decider from Theo Walcott. A job well done! ✅

+4’

Walker-Peters fouled

Smart play from the full-back, running the clock down. Saints will see this out in the south coast sunshine! A bright afternoon all round.

+1’

3 added minutes...

Saints keeping the ball well, seeing out this one in comfort. They've certainly been dominant, with one slight lapse in concentration in the second period. Impressive all over the park, though.

GOALSCORER 32 Theo Walcott

POINTS SECURE 🙌

The finish takes a nick off Joe Bryan, making it tough for the goalkeeper, but take nothing away from the build up play. Wonderful link up between Walcott, Adams and Tella. Lovely back-flick from the youngster. That should ensure maximum spoils!

83’

GOOOAL!!!

Theo Walcott (83’) | 3 1

Last 🔟

Stay strong, lads. There's 10 minutes remaining at St Mary's.

Southampton substitution: Ibrahima Diallo replaces Stuart Armstrong

Well played, Stu 👏 Tireless performance.

Measured finish from the teenager

18-year-old Fabio Carvalho pulls one back for the visitors, as he sneaks away from Stephens and rifles the ball past McCarthy. Nothing the keeper could do. Well timed run and smart finish.

76’

GOAL

Fabio Carvalho (76’) | 2 1

74’

Brilliant from Salisu

Reid was baring down on goal, having been slipped in by Bryan. Salisu spots the danger and provides the perfect cover, sliding to block Reid's shot.

JUBILANT 😁

Well deserved, Nath. The forward wheels away to celebrate following his first senior goal for Saints.

70’

Redmond motors forward

Nice work from Saints, as Redmond floats inside before finding Armstrong. The Scot takes one touch to set himself, before hitting a shot. Corner given, which is well cleared.

66’

Last-ditch Stephens

Phew! Great tackle from Stephens, who had to time that to perfection otherwise he was off. He slid in to retrieve the ball, with Cavaleiro on the hunt. Joe Bryan has a go moments later, but the effort is wide.

🙌

The first of many 🤞

GOALSCORER 23 Nathan Tella

A FIRST FOR TELLA

IT'S A WONDERFUL PASS FROM WALKER-PETERS. Lovely measured cross for Tella centrally, who strokes the ball home calmly, before celebrating with Theo Walcott on the sidelines.

60’

GOOOAL!!!

Nathan Tella (60’) | 2 0

58’

Southampton substitution: Nathan Tella replaces Danny Ings

Good shift, Ingsy. Easing back in from injury.

54’

Smart Fulham move

Reid is the instigator, but he's marshalled well by Stephens, at the expense of a corner. Vestergaard was the first to that, clearing with his head.

51’

Another beauty from Prowsey

Begging to be tapped in! The midfielder delivers another peach, which is turned behind for a corner. Ings connected but the header isn't a particularly good one.

48’

Back up and running...

Saints get us under way for the second period. Let's keep this going, lads! 👊

First-half action 📸

Through the lens of the first 45 minutes at St Mary's.

HALF-TIME: Southampton 1-0 Fulham

Ché Adams with the poacher's finish, is the difference at the break. Saints look good value for the lead, but will undoubtedly need another goal to make the points certain.

Let off for Saints

The ball is launched into Saints' box, with McCarthy favourite to catch. But he rather fumbles it. He hasn't had much to do all game, but makes the recovery to collect the ball. Brief moment of panic.

37’

Valiant effort from Ward-Prowse

Minamino wins a free-kick on the edge of the Fulham box, giving the captain the perfect opportunity to strike a dead ball. 20 yards from goal, the midfielder certainly tested Areola, but it wasn't one of his best.

Chélebration 🙌

Great work, Ché. Saints continue lead and are dominating possession at St Mary's.

32’

Stephens spots Ings

Smart run from the striker, who takes the ball well in his stride, as he worked it to Minamino. The Japanese ran into some traffic whilst trying to work room for a shot, but link-up play was good.

GOALSCORER 10 Ché Adams

SAINTS LEAD

Two in two for Ché Adams, who is now closing in on double figures for the season. Ward-Prowse's delivery was attacked by a whole host of bodies, but the ball fell fortuitously to Adams, who squeezes it home with a first-time finish.

27’

GOOOAL!!!

Ché Adams (27’) | 1 0

27’

Brilliant footwork from Armstrong

Armstrong beats Andersen for pace, with a fine first touch, allowing Ward-Prowse the chance to deliver from a dead ball situation. It was attacked by Ings, then Adams pounces....

K W P 😍

This guy. That's it.

First glimpse of goal for Ings

Ball over the top for Ings, which he took down well, but he's immediately smothered by defenders at Tete gets a vital touch. Meanwhile there's a chance for Minamino, who was well found by Adams, but again Fulham recover well and Adarabioyo makes the tackle.

S O L I D 💪

Our big Dane at the back, bossing the defensive third.

13’

Off balance, off target

Lovely break from Saints, as Armstrong snuffed the ball out, before feeding Minamino on the move. He in turn worked the ball to Redmond, but the winger blasted wide of the target. He took the shot off balance.

10’

Air shot from Reid

Corner delivered from the right, eventually arriving to Reid at the back post, who took a swing at it but didn't make real contact. It transpired that he was stood in an offside position, but the chance was more than presentable for the visitors.

7’

Saints nearly caught

Plenty of bodies back to defend the danger, but Josh Onomah does get his shot away, which McCarthy was happy to watch wide of his near post.

Some sunshine has arrived ☀️

Solid start for the home side, keeping the ball well. Ward-Prowse attempted to free Minamino on the run, it was a great spot, but the pass ever so slightly over hit. Promising.

1’

We're up an running 🙌

Fulham, in their changed all yellow strip, get us up and running. IT'S SHOWTIME! 😇
