FULL TIME: Leeds 3-0 Saints
A disappointing end to proceedings at Elland Road. While it remained goalless in the first-half, Leeds came out with a greater attacking threat in the second to earn them victory and send them into the top half of the Premier League table. Saints never stopped pressing and at times put on a really good display. Work to do as we head to Everton next Monday.
Yellow Card for Raphael Dias Belloli (Leeds United)
Raphinha with the third
Leeds hit the counter again and Djenepo gives away the free-kick on the edge of the box. Raphinha, who is deadly from the dead ball, smashes it into the back of the net.
GOAL
Raphael Dias Belloli (84’) | 3 – 0

Leeds double the score
Stuart Dallas' shot is spectacular and Alex McCarthy has no chance of stopping that one.
GOAL
Stuart Dallas (78’) | 2 – 0

Saints searching for an equaliser
The tempo is still up here at Elland Road with Saints pushing for that all important equaliser. James Ward-Prowse launches a shot but it goes straight into the hands of Meslier. With Takumi Minamino and Danny Ings now on the pitch, can Southampton pull this one back?
So close ...
Ings wins a corner for Southampton which James Ward-Prowse lines up to take. The captain launches the ball into Jannik Vestergaard who gets a thumping header in on goal but Bamford clears the line for Leeds and the ball heads out for another corner.
WHAT A SAVE
That was brilliant from Alex McCarthy who denies Leeds a second goal. Big moment from the goalkeeper.
Leeds relentless
Beautiful play from Raphinha once again to get Leeds in a very dangerous position. It's Bamford that gets the first shot off on goal but Alex McCarthy palms it away, Roberts then has a chance on the rebound but it goes straight into the body of McCarthy.
Another Leeds chance
Both teams have come out fighting this second-half. Raphinha gets the ball off to Roberts whose effort goes just inches past the post.
Saints seek a quick equaliser
It doesn't take long for Southampton to get back to it with an almost immediate response. It's Stuart Armstrong who fires at the near post where Meslier makes an excellent save to palm Armstrong's effort clear.
Saints punished
Patrick Bamford gets his thirteenth goal of the season as Southampton are caught off guard. Roberts feeds the ball into Bamford from the halfway line who doesn't flinch as he gets his shot off on goal to give Leeds the lead.
GOAL
Patrick Bamford (48’) | 1 – 0

Second half 🎬
We're back up and running at Elland Road. Will the deadlock be broken? Only time will tell ...
HALF TIME: Leeds 0-0 Saints
A goalless first-half at Elland Road but it certainly wasn't without its chances. Saints come out strong and fully in charge in the first 20 but the hosts quickly worked their way back into the game. A spectacular Oriel Romeu tackle saved Saints from conceding. We can expect a big second-half ahead.
Whistle controversy?
Southampton thought they caught Leeds off guard for a moment there, but James Ward-Prowse's pass into Adams was taken before the whistle was blown. 3 additional minutes to be played...
EXCEPTIONAL FROM ROMEU
A crucial challenge from Romeu as he stops Raphinha who is quids in on goal. The move came as a result of a Southampton free-kick which was cleared by Luke Ayling for Leeds, Harrison releases to Raphinha who charges on the counter but Oriel Romeu times his tackle perfectly. That's a huge moment in this game.
Counter from Leeds
Roberts charges down the wing and Nathan Tella brings him down. Another free-kick for Leeds who again have Raphinha behind the ball - this time it goes straight into the hands of Alex McCarthy.
VAR Decision: Penalty awarded for Southampton [Nathan Tella] was cancelled
Llorente brings down Tella just inside the box and Marriner awards Saints a penalty. VAR comes into play and overturns the onfield decision, as Llorente appears to pull out of the challenge. Instead, Leeds are awarded a free-kick.
Better from Leeds
Vestergaard brings Roberts down and gives away the free kick, also landing himself a card. Raphinha steps up for the free kick which finds Llorente in acres of space. The ball finds its way to Cooper and it's McCarthy with important fingertips to send the ball over for a corner.
Yellow Card for Jannik Vestergaard (Southampton)
Leeds growing into the game
Raphinha shows his undeniable excellence as he pulls the ball back and curls it into Roberts who sends it well over the crossbar.
Promising from Saints
The visitors have come out strong in this first half and Leeds are struggling to find some rhythm, Nathan Tella has made a number of really impressive moves already, the youngster is displaying nerves of steel on his first Premier League start.
First opportunity for Leeds
Luke Ayling goes down and wins a free kick for Leeds. No surprise who steps up to take it, Raphinha loops the ball into the box but Bamford's shot is saved by McCarthy. The flag goes up anyway.
Footwork from Tella 👌
Nathan Tella starts in the Premier League for Southampton for the first time today and has an opportunity on goal within the first 10 minutes of play. He finds the space and works past the men in white to get a shot off on goal, The shot is comfortably saved by Meslier, but it's clear Saints have come out fighting up north.
CLOSE 😳
The delivery from James Ward-Prowse spectacular as ever, Vestergaard gets into space and heads the ball down but it goes just wide of the far post. A positive start from Saints.
Saints start strong
Adams goes down just outside the box and Saints win a free-kick on the edge of the area. A tight angle, but up steps James Ward-Prowse ...

Welcome back to Elland Road
It's been some nine years since Southampton last travelled to Leeds' Elland Road where the two sides faced off in the Championship in 2012. That year, Saints earned promotion to the Premier League. Having just come up from the Championship, Leeds have had a promising start with their return to the top division. What will this evening's fixture bring?
